This is the 6th little face I’ve made for my new 100 Polymer Clay Faces, a follow up for Kellie Snider’s 100 Faces Portrait Project. For now I’ll be working on form and structure, bit later on I’ll move into likeness. I love this sort of project.
This is the technique I’m currently trying to perfect. Lay down the skin’s alarming undertones, then cover with a thin drape of very thin transluce t clay and press it over the previous layer. After baking the translucent layer becomes somewhat transparent allowing underlying features to shine theough. I have a lot of fine tuning to do but the truth is working hard to set me free!
