Boquilla Collection

Two works of art inspired by the travels of Nicole Murray Phillip. Originals and prints. Art for Changemakers

Art for aspiring changemakers to inspire successive small steps toward powerful changes in their world.

Boquillas Honor Pottery Original

Boquillas Honor Pottery depicts a unique cultural exchange along the U.S. side of the Rio Grande, where Mexican artisans leave their handmade goods—pots, sculptures, and other items—for sale on the honor system. These goods are carefully laid out on the ground, accompanied by painted boxes where buyers can leave payment. This remarkable practice highlights the artisans’ resourcefulness and their trust in the goodness of strangers to support their livelihood.

Red Boat in Boquillas Original

The Red Boat captures the serene beauty of the Rio Grande River under a vibrant yellow sunset sky. The painting showcases the striking contrast of a vast blue desert stretching toward the distant mountains of Mexico, evoking a sense of timelessness and connection to the natural landscape. Across the river lies Boquillas, Mexico, a small village rich in culture and tradition. The red boat depicted in the painting is not just a striking visual element but also a symbol of the connection between two countries.
