The Blood Moon Clowder

& the Ephemeral Fence Between Worlds

The Blood Moon rises only a few times a year, casting a crimson glow over the tombs, stirring something within the clowder. Under this blood moon, secrets wake, and the clowder’s world metamorphoses into a red night of sinister curiosities.

The Blood Moon Clowder is an experiment in sharing original artwork in succession along with serialized storytelling. As I tell the story of an exceptional clowder of cats, I will reveal their portraits and the paintings that tell their stories.

Step into the shadows of The Blood Moon Clowder and follow the clowder’s journey as the Blood Moon rises over New Orleans. Secrets buried beneath the tombs are waking, and the clowder faces mysteries they’ve never encountered before. As each chapter unfolds, the stakes grow higher, and danger looms closer. Greg, Snowball, and their kin are caught in a battle between the mystical and the unknown—one that could change their world forever. Will you dare to follow along and uncover what’s lurking in the shadows? Each chapter reveals more, with exclusive artwork that brings this eerie tale to life.

Don’t miss out—their safety might just depend on it.

Introduction

In the hazy shadows of this New Orleans neighborhood, between the spires of the stone tombs and the foundation beams of the ancient houses, the Blood Moon Clowder makes its home. The clowder, sleek and silent, weaves its way between mausoleums like ghosts in the moonlight. Their white fur may betray them in the streets, but within the cemetery, they move unnoticed, protected by the ancient bleached graves etched with lichen.

The Blood Moon rises only a few times a year, casting a crimson glow over the tombs, stirring something within the clowder. Under this blood moon, secrets wake, and the clowder’s world metamorphoses into a red night of sinister curiosities.

Last year, as the Blood Moon bathed the cemetery in red light, I began painting. Inspiration struck without warning—white fur glowing under the deep red sky. The more I painted, the more a story unfolded. These cats were not creatures of comfort; they were feral and awakening to something tantalizingly elusive that defied their understanding. Greg, the Overlord of the clowder—aloof and impatient—was the first to sense the change. He turned his watchful yellow eyes on the city, keen to identify its source.

This serial is more than just a story about cats. It’s a journey through the hidden layers of New Orleans underworlds, where mysteries cling to the air like moss and the line between the living and the dead is never quite clear. It’s a tale of survival, where science and magic intertwine in unexpected ways.

Each chapter will be revealed alongside a painting from the Blood Moon Clowder series, starting with Greg the Overlord. His tale begins with the disappearance of two clowder members and the strange transformations they undergo before their return. As the power of the Blood Moon grows, Greg must lead the clowder to uncover the truth before it’s too late.

Follow me into the shadows.

About Final Portrait

Everyone has a different story to live, even when they walk under the same wet sky every day of their lives. Even when the same wickedness approaches them in the same dark mask, no two stories are ever the same. Everyone interprets the plot in her own style, and decides whether to give the antagonist her heart or her fist, her peace or her fury.
